The Gamer drops
a short article saying what I have been for months. That the hints dropped imply this is going to be a beyond meaty expansion. In fact I'd even go one step more. I think the original planned 2 or 3 expansions that got condensed into one due to the poorly executed launch, many ideas for all of them got complied into Phantom Liberty. I am not saying we are getting 3 distinct stories, I would however surmise side content for all of them got added to this one. For example car modding, additional missions, mini storylines, additional cyberware all these side items that were going to be spread out between 2 or 3 expansions all are getting packed into one. I honestly do believe due to the time this expansion is taking and how they went down to one expansion this is, as the article suggests, going to be larger than any Witcher 3 add-on paid content. Let us know what you think below.
UPDATE: Seems Global Community director for CDPR Marcin Momot who replied to this (see below) is tempering expectations about the literal size of it. Makes me think I am off on my assessment. His tweet implies it may not be the largest content wise, just budget wise.
The studio is already famous for its exemplary add-ons to The Witcher 3, as both Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine expansions provide dozens of hours of new adventures, alongside memorable characters and their stories. Toussaint was impressively large and brimming with content already, but it looks like Phantom Liberty's brand-new area of Night City will outdo even that. Seems like the developers are going all-in for this upcoming DLC in pursuit of the previously announced goal of selling Cyberpunk 2077 "for years."
