This music site details how Spirit Machines, a Utah rock band, beat out almost 8,000 other entries to have their track included in the expansion Phantom Liberty. Here is a snip, comment below;
“I found out about it about a month before the competition deadline,” he says. So the band wrote and recorded a brand new song in a day at Rigby Road studios with producer and engineer Jordan Clark. The result was the new Spirit Machines song “Candy Shell.”
“In the game, you can add cybernetic mods to your body, like lungs, hearts, new bones made of steel, stuff like that,” Collins says. “It all gives you advantages, but if you do too many mods you go insane and basically start murdering everyone with all this crazy tech. The song is about the process of someone living in this dystopian world and using implants to survive and succeed while getting closer and closer to going insane.”
