Quinn Henry explores the Japanese influence over the cyberpunk genre that was born in the 80s, and why South Korea is actually the real life model of cyberpunk today. A really fascinating look at what happens when one megacorp controls a country in real life.

Dami, a architect from Canada takes a deep dive into the comparisons of the cyberpunk genre city design and how some of the sci fi style is bleeding into our own. She looks at why the cyberpunk city designs in fiction would be very anti-social, damaging in real life but also some of the benefits of certain aspects. A really good, informative watch while also entertaining. Take a look;

Well for anyone who wanted to know how to do the makeup of the major NPCs in Cyberpunk 2077 I bring to you a sweet tutorial. Style site lizbreygel.com posted a article with real world examples of what happens when you copy the make up from 2077. Now you can let your inner Judy or Panam into the real world! Here is a snip;
#4. Cheri Nowlin | Blue Eyebrows + Black And Gold Lips
Cheri Nowlin is the receptionist at Clouds located in Japantown. A fan-favorite NPC, who doesn't play a major role in the Cyberpunk game. However, her cool look makes her an unforgettable character.
Colorful eyebrows in an electric blue shade, a pair of bright-blue contact lenses, and black and gold lips. Her iconic makeup is definitely worthy of your attention!

PC Gamer reports we are clearly heading to a cyberpunk dystopia... I mean... what could possibly go the fuck wrong with a 'living' computer?
Why are scientists experimenting with this sort of computing? So-called reservoir computing matches neurons made from living cells with conventional computer chips used to read the data they produce. The idea is that the division of labor between meat and silicon cuts down the time and energy needed to train more traditional neural networks.
Eventually it's hoped that reservoir computing could be used to create more efficient devices, that could also maintain continued functionality if parts are damaged or break down. The New Scientist report states that at the moment this mouse brain-bot can't yet match conventional neural networks in terms of raw performance, but the team is aiming to make a larger living computer.
Peak Storage
Somewhat worryingly, they're also hoping this larger mouse brain-bot will start to exhibit behavior they didn't input or train the neural network for. I've read enough science fiction to know how that goes.

While not 2077 related but general gaming I felt this
was a worthy article to post about. PC Gamer talked to a licensed therapist and how he uses PC games, Dragon Age specifically, to explain relationships. A really insightful and in depth article. Here is a snip;
Human development PhD and licensed marriage & family therapist Dr. Ryan Earl goes by Dr. Mick on Twitch (opens in new tab). He started out livestreaming Destiny 2 hoping to be a resource for other streamers who often accidentally wind up playing amateur therapists to their viewers. When the Mass Effect Legendary Edition launched in 2021, Dr. Mick planned to livestream what would be his 10th playthrough. "And I was like 'you know what? I'll try to analyze it," he tells me. He set out to make realistic decisions, not as a typical RPG player, but based on his years of clinical and life experience.
And boy did BioWare fans enjoy seeing a professional dissect their favorite characters. "Mass Effect was where my TikTok really blew up," Dr. Mick says. He's since analyzed his playthroughs of Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us, and more, eventually returning to BioWare to try Dragon Age: Origins, which he remembered so little of from his single 2009 playthrough that he was able to have unprepared reactions, unlike with Mass Effect.
"Dragon Age probably has the best content for me to dissect of all the games I've played so far," he says, noting that its genuine reactions to your decisions force a player to pay attention to context rather than leaning on morality or tone indicators.
